Description

Exceptionally mature, this 27 year old single malt was distilled on the Isle of Islay at infamous distillery Bowmore. Distilled in 1997, the whisky aged for a generous 27 years in a refill sherry butt, eventually yielding just 144 bottles. This rare expression was bottled by independent bottler Tri Carragh. Notes of smoky BBQ and red peppercorn.

Nose
Initially floral and sweet with lavender and Parma Violets, followed by sticky BBQ sauce over BBQ'd Ribs, smoked over a charcoal fire with a hint of sweet tobacco.
Palate
Chewy and meaty, with smoked BBQ flavours, spicy notes such as red peppercorns, and hints of cherries. Water brings the smoke to the forefront and increases sweetness.
Finish
Long and mouthwatering, with floral and hickory BBQ interplay lingering, leaving a polished smoky sweetness.
