Brechin 28 Years Old Diageo Special Releases 2005 is an exceptionally rare single malt from the Brechin distillery, also known as North Port. As the distillery closed in 1983 and never released any official bottlings in its lifetime, this is among the last examples from the lost distillery. Brechin 28 Years Old Diageo Special Releases 2005 was distilled in 1977 and matured for 28 years in refill American oak casks.

Palate
Smooth-bodied, balanced with freshly cut grass, fennel, parsley, blossom, rubbed petals, lemon juice, gentle sugars, wood, faint salinity, sugared almonds, old leather, roasted coconut, clove, pear drops, honey, delicate smoke, linseed oiliness, tangy mouthfeel, barley sugar, gripping oak.
Finish
Medium-long fruit and nut, drying gently, long, mandarin zest, leathery tobacco, lingering tobacco, cinnamon, clove, dry, oaky, liquorice, nuts, with oak rising to a touch of desiccation.
