Description

This Bruichladdich 18-year-old is an unpeated Islay Single Malt Whisky. The distillery, mothballed by previous owners Whyte & Mackay, was revived in 2000 by independent bottler Murray McDavid. This particular expression features a Willi Opitz Trockenbeerenauslese Finish, adding concentrated fruit and fruit compote flavours. It was distilled, matured, and bottled at Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay, Scotland.

Honey, fruit, apricot, raisin, vanilla, earthy malt, grassy, hay, brine, floral, with bright citrus zest and orchard fruits like green apple and pear.
Palate
Rich and layered with creamy toffee, lemon curd, fresh peach, toasted almonds, coconut, honey-drizzled cereal, buttery pastry, dried apricot, and subtle tropical fruit. Notes of salty ocean terroir, oaky tannic spice, baking spice, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and bold malt are also present.
Finish
Long, elegant, and gently coastal, with lingering malt sweetness, salted caramel, a delicate trace of wine-poached fruits, bold ocean sea-salt, brine, oaky tannic spice, light fruits, toasted nuts, and a lingering pepper spice.
