Description

Octomore, the super-heavily peated single malt, is crafted by Bruichladdich distillery and is renowned as the most heavily peated whisky globally. It takes its name from the Octomore farm, which is positioned on a hillside north of Port Charlotte. Edition 08.4 Octomore is an 8-year-old super heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich. PPM level of 170 and made purely from 100% Scottish barley. This spirit was distilled in 2009 and matured for eight years, with 80% spending time initially in first-fill ex-Bourbon casks and then European virgin oak that had previously held Octomore 07.4, while the remaining 20% was held full-term in virgin oak. It was bottled in 2017 with an outturn of 12,000 bottles.
