Description
This 30-year-old single malt from the Bruichladdich distillery on Islay was distilled in 1988 and bottled in 2019 as part of the distillery's Rare Cask series. It was matured in a combination of standard ex-bourbon barrels and ex-bourbon squat hogsheads, an unusual type of cask rarely used by distilleries. The whisky is named 'The Untouchable' as it was never re-casked during its 30 years of maturation. Bruichladdich, revived in 2000, is known for producing unpeated whisky, and this release is a definitive, old, bourbon-aged Bruichladdich. Only 6,000 bottles were released.
