Description

This Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey was distilled in 2008 in Frankfort, Kentucky, from a mashbill of 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley. It was aged for 15 years and bottled at barrel proof (120 proof / 60% ABV) by K&L Wine Merchants. This small batch release was compiled from fewer than 10 barrels.

Nose
cedar, strawberry candy, maple syrup, marzipan pastry, with a hint of orange.
Palate
powdered sugar with loads of red fruit: cherry, raspberry, and strawberry. Spicy oak and black licorice spike in and out and really layer this whole whiskey. After a couple of sips, it gives almost more of a fruity cola kind of a feel.
Finish
that tingly cola and oak really lingers and it fades into some more funky, earthy tea.
