The bourbon was drawn from a single barrel selected by French retailer Le Comptoir Irlandais, and is bottled at 80 proof. Buffalo Trace is the oldest continuously operating distillery in the United States. Records of distilling on the banks of the Kentucky River go all the way back to 1775, and in 1812 a distillery was constructed on the site.
