The name promises smoke, and the documented character follows through: the refill hogshead leaves the oak question open, while peat clearly takes the lead. That makes for a coherent, deliberately smoke-first picture, with sweetness pushed back until water brings out citrus and floral notes. I like that the finish lets the peat recede into pepper, herbs and seaside savouriness rather than holding one loud note throughout. A compelling fit for smoke-led tastes, though oak detail is not what carries it.
