Description

An independent single cask bottling of peated Bunnahabhain distilled on 17 October 2013 and aged for 9 years, initially in an ex-bourbon hogshead before finishing in a second-fill Pedro Ximénez hogshead. Released at cask strength by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society for the 2023 Islay Whisky Festival (Fèis Ìle).

Tar-covered prunes, cinnamon, caramel, toffee and grape must, with cherry, treacle, mellow peat, orange marmalade and sticky pork ribs.
Palate
Earthy peat, burnt caramel, saltwater, bitter grapefruit, smoked German cheese, salty Dutch liquorice, green peppercorns and anchovy paste.
Finish
Long and drying with burnt coffee, dry wood, ash, coal fires, antiseptic notes and lingering peat smoke.
