Maltiply Tasting Profile
Nose
Sweet sherry notes with plums, raisins, and stone fruits. Hints of burnt caramel, toasted banana bread, and nutty undertones, alongside earthy, mineral, and citrus notes. Some reviewers also detect yeasty, salted peanut, or even 'baby breath' and 'rotting grapes' nuances. [3, 7, 10, 12]
Palate
Creamy and rich, with sweet and maritime notes, including rich caramel and brine (salted caramel). Followed by cinnamon spice and stone fruits. Some detect an oily texture, with notes of diesel, orange peels, and an earthy presence. Sulphury notes, extinguished matchheads, raisins, pepper, and 'new plastic' have also been noted. [3, 7, 8, 10, 12]
Finish
Long, woody, and creamy. Lingering notes of diesel, earth, and lemon. It can dry out with burnt rubber and sulphury sherry, with vegetal notes fading. Oak and tannic notes are present, sometimes with sherry separation and saltiness. [3, 7, 8, 10]
