Nose
Very woody with 'green' oak, pickled walnuts, with a slightly moldy hint of vegetables, and big green plums. Also very fruity, slightly lactic, musty, sour, with old books, vanilla, and cider vinegar.
Palate
A sharp oakiness with a touch of vinegar, pickled walnuts, walnut shells, lots of wood, green apples and green plums. Also very sweet, a little dry, and easy going, with caramel, caraway, black tea, and orchard fruit.
Finish
Old fashioned, very oak driven with hints of green malt, barley notes, apples, and a tiny bitter note. Also a bit of spice, more sweetness, some herbal notes, and lingering black tea.
