Description

The trading name for the independent bottling company, Walking Back the Cat Ltd., established in 2007 and revived full-time in 2017. This Cambridge Circus release is a 32-year-old blended malt from Single & Single, comprising six single malts from Macallan, Highland Park, Dalmore, Glenfarclas, Glen Elgin, and Tormore. It was married for 30 years and then finished for a final 2 years in Oloroso sherry casks.

Nose
Old oak furniture and leather, wonderfully fruity and a touch malty, driven by ripe mango, pineapple, and tropical soda. Horlicks malt drink and hot milk lurk under the fruit, with a whiff of peppery smokiness. Chocolate orange, cinnamon sticks, a hint of heather honey and coastal peat. All sweet and perfumed – fragrant spices and citrus.
Palate
Robust and full-bodied. Sour fruit candies are balanced by sweet pineapple syrup. Tannins bring structure, with dried mango. If there's grain whisky, it's hiding. Roast chestnuts, nectarines, chewy dates, barley sugar sweeties, earthy oak. A rich bite of Jaffa orange marmalade, honeyed and velvety with hints of vanilla, cinnamon and dark chocolate.
Finish
Medium length and totally tropical. Clove, savoury smoke, a final touch of espresso. Subtle smoky spices.
