Nose
Aromas of barbequed meats and tangy BBQ sauce, sherry and walnuts, salty brine and subtle peat embers, touch of leather. Hearty layers of peat smoke, earthen ash, stewed berries, roasted barley and hints of marmalade.
Palate
Rich sherry notes, mouthcoating and tingling with spice, dried sherried fruits and spices including ginger and nutmeg, hint of paprika. Sherry notes give way to molasses, charred marshmallow and toasted oak before fizzy cola cubes. Subtle smoke echoes throughout. Peppery oak and meaty smoke accompany redcurrant jelly, drying oak, and old leather, with bonfire embers crackling away in the depths.
Finish
A long finish, with old polished leather, sherry and dried fruits alongside refined salty smoke which becomes increasingly ashy towards the close. Lingering peat and ash are bolstered by a balance of warming spice and vinous fruit.
