Nose
Deep and earthy, with sweet notes and musty touches, mushrooms, dunnage warehouse, peat and black tea. Ground pepper and wood smoke on top of licorice and ash. Lightly meaty, gristy malt, soft smoke and citrus, menthol, green apples, crisp grapefruits and sweet berries in the background.
Palate
A lot of wood smoke, black tea, licorice and fruit, with a touch of lemon zing, smoky baked apples, soot and spicy chocolate bon-bons. Zingy citrus, lime and lemon, great balance of smoke, malt, sweet honey, golden syrup, maple syrup, golden raisin, very oily. Briney notes and green pepper.
Finish
Smoky fruity goodness, hint of ash and over-grilled apples. Medium/Long length, drying but sweet still, honey, butter, oils. Slightly grassier, full of drier ashy notes.
