Description
Connoisseurs Choice is one of the most easily recognised ranges from the independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail. This range was launched by George Urquhart - one of the first of four generations of the family to build Gordon & MacPhail - back in the 1960s; a period where most malts were used in blends so this was quite an unusual move for the company. This Caperdonich 1972 was distilled when the distillery was still known locally as “Glen Grant No. 2,” and slumbered for nearly four decades in a single first-fill sherry butt before being released by Gordon & MacPhail as part of their revered Connoisseurs Choice series. Caperdonich distillery closed in 2002 and was dismantled, making this a rare and sought-after bottling.
