Nose
Noble woodiness with aromas of peat smoke reminiscent of ashes, golden osmanthus, and natural camphorwood camphor. Baked mango, yellow peach, and quince throat continue to rise from the back of the glass. The smokiness is very subtle, but the intense and powerful aromas stand out.
Palate
Canned pineapple, the juicy sweetness of Japanese pear with the bitterness of grapefruit, and a quaint blend of Japanese and Western flavors, like a Japanese chestnut tart.
Finish
Fragrance and rich sweetness of fruit baked until the surface is charred, accompanied by the spicy aroma of sansho (Japanese pepper).
