Every spring, the hills of Chichibu are covered in pink and purple flowers for the Shibazakura Festival, celebrated at the foot of Mount Bukō. Inspired by this marvellous view, the Chichibu Distillery has created a limited-edition set of two 7-year-old whiskies, each aged in a different cask selected to reflect the spirit of the festival. The first matured in a second-fill ex-peated bourbon barrel, offering sweet vanilla, ripe tropical fruits, caramel, subtle campfire smoke, herbs, and wood spice. The second matured in a barrel that previously held Umeshu, providing an exceptionally rich, fruity, and refreshing sweet and sour taste.
