Description

A malt distillery in the Highland region of Scotland and part of the Scotch whisky holdings of Diageo. The current distillery was built in 1967 and despite its long associations to the Johnnie Walker blends, it has one of the oldest single malt brands as well.

Historical context
The original Clynelish distillery was built in 1819. A new distillery was built in 1969, and the old one was renamed Brora. Bottlings from this era labeled 'Clynelish' may contain whisky from the Brora stills due to cask mix-ups. [4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16]

Piles of wax, thick nose-feel, rich and sweet, floral honey, malty (brioche, graham crackers), sweet milk, orange zest, flowers, hay, purple grapes, powdered sugar, green lettuce, lime, medicinal, Turkish delight, caramel, celery.
Palate
Oily and thick texture, rich with honey and paraffin wax, peach, overripe pineapple, cool & floral, tulips, hazelnuts, cocoa powder, farmy quality, touch of smoke, browned fruits, brown sugar, ice, motor oil, very mild peat, hazelnut.
Finish
Medium, lingering wax and honey, yellow plums, strawberry yogurt, green grass, very smooth, raw apple juice, green vegetables.
