Description

Signatory was founded by Andrew Symington in 1999. After discovering single cask single malt whisky while managing Prestonfield House Hotel, Andrew bought his first cask, a Glenlivet 1968, and is now one of the largest independent bottlers in Scotland. As of 2002, Signatory Vintage Whisky company is also the owner of the Edradour distillery. This Clynelish was made in 2008 and spent a decade in a single first-fill ex-bourbon hogshead before being bottled in April 2019 by Signatory Vintage for The Whisky Exchange's 20th anniversary celebrations.

Nose
Sweet and creamy with tropical and orchard fruits, honey, vanilla, lemon, pear drops, and a hint of savory pine resin and paraffin. Floral notes, mint, and some minerality are also present.
Palate
Fruity and waxy with notes of vanilla, honey, beeswax, sweet porridge, lemon, and brine. Caramel, lilac, elderflower, and a limestoney mineral note, along with black pepper, cloves, nutmeg, toasted almonds, and banana.
Finish
Long, with fruit, malt, wax, citrus, and spice. Notes of sourdough bread, orange zest, brine, honeycomb, light oak, dark chocolate, and mint.
