Description

Asyla was a rich and full-flavoured blend containing nothing but whisky matured in first-fill bourbon casks. One of the company's earliest blends, this was a key part of the core range until it was discontinued in 2018 due to difficulties in sourcing the requisite whiskies. The recipe for the blend varies from batch to batch, however it always consists of a 50:50 malt to grain ratio with the former being sourced from Alness, Longmorn, Glen Elgin, Teaninich, and Linkwood, and the latter from Fife (Cameronbridge). It is bottled at 40% ABV and is not chill-filtered.

Fruit and light, with sweetness of crisp green apples and melons, peach syrup, lemon-lime soda, cereal grains, banana, honey, malt, caramel, Cheerios, coconut, waxy bubblegum, vanilla, fudge, nougat, burnt marshmallows, and a hint of spice and lemon.
Palate
Malty and peppery, with apples and pears sweetness, soft vanilla, steel cut oats, powdered sugar, lemon, banana, honey, toffee, dried fruit, spice, wax, coconut, vanilla-cream, cereals, and subtle apple-like fruit character. Round and cool mouthfeel, becoming oily with grassy flavors.
Finish
Short and sweet, with traces of malt and fruit, caramel, grain, vanilla, wax, dried fruit, gristy malt, black pepper, grassy, oaky, orchard fruit, and lingering sweetness like powdered sugar and maple syrup.
