Description
Compass Box Asyla is a blended Scotch Whisky from independent bottler Compass Box, founded by John Glaser in 2000. It is known for its delicate and refined character, often described as an aperitif style whisky. The blend consists of 50% malt whisky (from distilleries like Glen Elgin, Teaninich, Linkwood, Longmorn, and Alness) and 50% grain whisky (from Cameronbridge or Fife). It is aged exclusively in first-fill American oak casks, which impart vanilla and sweetness. Asyla is bottled without chill-filtration and with natural color. It was part of Compass Box's core range but was discontinued in 2018 due to the unavailability of suitable aged components. It received Silver Outstanding medals at the 2018 International Spirits Challenge and the International Wine & Spirit Competition.
