Description

The Compass Box Flaming Heart 25th Anniversary Edition is a blended malt Scotch whisky celebrating 25 years of Compass Box's whiskymaking. This remastered eighth version of Flaming Heart, first created in 2006, focuses on a potent alliance of heavily-peated oak and heavily-peated whiskies. It is crafted from specially selected peated whiskies and those extra-matured in custom French oak barrels, delivering oak, smoke, and fire in an epic performance. This edition aims for a simpler, peat-focused recipe than past releases, using fewer components to intensify the flavor.

Rich, oily smoke, supported by zingy spice, hints of raspberry and apricot, cookie dough and miso depth, impressions of tarry rope, salty sea spray, camphor, bonfire S'mores, marmalade on toast, and an earthy hint of horse stalls.
Palate
Dense with spices like clove, pink and black pepper, and nutmeg. Medicinal peat notes compete with bright and winey fruit, warm pie spice, honey syrup, just-lit cigar wrapper, peppery barbecued meats, and blackberry jam. Salty earthy peat and typical wine cask fruitiness are also present.
Finish
Concentrated smoke that is woody and ashy with menthol and citrus oils. Long and satisfying, with lingering notes of sea salt, caramel, gentle campfire smoke, and baking spice.
