Description

Compass Box Nectarosity is a vibrant blended Scotch whisky from Compass Box, characterized by honeyed fruit and toasted oak notes. It was created to enhance life's sweet pleasures and the joy of celebrating with others. This expertly blended whisky draws inspiration from the world of patisserie, combining 11 malt and grain whiskies. Special American oak barrels are deployed twice; first to impart sweet spice to grain spirit, which finishes maturing in other casks, and once 'prepared', these barrels age malt whisky. The blend aims to evoke a pastry/baking theme with notes of honey, lychee, juicy apricot, and pineapple.

Nose
Sweetness is prominent, with fruit (peach, pineapple in syrup, apple, apricot, orange), cotton candy, marzipan, shortcrust pastry and wildflower honey. A hint of baklava. A second layer of custard, candied ginger and a touch of cinnamon. Also, light fruits, apricot, peach, citrus, honey, vanilla, lightly toasted oak, and soft floral notes.
Palate
A pleasant creamy mouthfeel with a tinge of cloves, fudge, dark caramel, cinnamon, stewed apple, bananas, soft leafy bitterness, clotted cream, gingerbread, and oak char. Juicy apricot and pineapple, followed by layers of toffee, vanilla and butterscotch. Smooth and rounded with honeyed orchard fruit, vanilla cream, soft caramel, gentle baking spice, dried apricot, soft floral notes, and integrated oak.
Finish
Short to medium length. A hint of butter, some nutmeg and a tinge of citrus. Smooth with lots of fruit, lingering oak and pepper spice. Medium-long and warmly composed, with lingering honeyed orchard fruit, vanilla, soft caramel, soft baking spice, and a gentle warmth fading slowly.
