Description
Compass Box The Last Vatted Malt is a historic limited edition release from 2011, created to commemorate the end of the 'Vatted Malt' term in Scotch whisky regulations. Bottled just before new regulations came into effect on November 22, 2011, which replaced 'Vatted Malt' with 'Blended Malt', this whisky is a blend of 78% 26-year-old Caol Ila matured in American oak hogsheads and 22% 36-year-old Glenallachie (or Aberlour) aged in a first-fill sherry butt. It was released as a tribute to the traditional term and to highlight Compass Box's expertise in blending single malts.
