Description
This 18-year-old single malt Irish whiskey was distilled at Cooley Distillery in May 2002 and initially matured in 1st fill bourbon barrels for 17 years. A small batch was then re-casked and aged for a further 13 months in a Pedro Ximenez sherry cask. It is a cask strength, non-chill filtered release from independent bottler W.D. O'Connell. Cooley Distillery, originally owned by John Teeling, is nestled in the Cooley Mountains in Co. Louth, with access to clean, pure water from the Slieve na gCloc river. Both patent and pot stills are used at Cooley allowing it to produce both malt and grain.
