Description

A distillery founded in Stourton in the English Cotswolds region by American businessman, Daniel Szor. Production commenced in 2014. This Cotswolds 2017 Odyssey Barley Single Malt Whisky is produced in small batches with 100% floor-malted local Odyssey barley, harvested in 2017 from farms surrounding the distillery. It is distilled in traditional copper pot stills and aged in first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels and reconditioned red wine casks. Bottled in 2021 at 46% ABV, it is non-chill filtered and has natural colour. This is a limited edition release of 6200 bottles.

Fresh and cereal, with notes of freshly ground barley, white flower honey, apricot jam, honeydew melon, stewed rhubarb, strawberry & cream sweets, oats, flaky biscuits, cinnamon, orange peel, icing sugar, dark fruits, blackberries, toffee, treacle, and creamy vanilla.
Palate
Smooth, rich, and elegant with a full, viscous body. Notes of sweet grain, sponge cake, green apple, light wood spices (nutmeg), dark sugar, caramelised Seville orange marmalade, bittersweet tannins, dried red fruits (plums, blackcurrant), and a light cinnamon spice.
Finish
Medium to long, clean, refreshing, and warm. Lingering notes of toasted malt, citrus, red wine sweetness, wood, dark red fruits, and fruit syrup.
