Nose
Soft and dry aromas of flowers, spices, vanilla, nuts, sweet honey and a hint of smoke. Sweet and malty, fruitier and juicier than the regular bottling, with notes of tea biscuits, fresh malt, and cranberry-orange bread.
Palate
Strong flavor of malt complemented by oak, vanilla and citrus with soft notes of peat and sweet sherry. Firm and sweet, with smoky undertones and fruitiness, malt, oak and smoke, intriguingly layered. Medium mouthfeel, somewhat oily, with plum, red raspberry, white pepper, and a suggestion of smoke.
Finish
Long aftertaste of floral flavors, fresh heather and oak. Medium to long and dry, with fine expressions of oakiness from bananas and vanilla to cocoa. Short finish with smoke and pipe tobacco ash.
