Nose
On the nose, this exceptional whisky is a lesson in orange marmalade and dried figs in the setting of a well-worn leather armchair. There are also hints of old newspapers and freshly waxed leather as well as a delightful waft of old-fashioned rose petal potpourri. The nose is a complex and intriguing affair, with a white, notes of fresh flour and porous stock.
Palate
The palate is a decadent scene with candied orange peel, dark chocolate, and a hint of ginger. The palate is also pleasantly bitter notes of grapefruit zest and kumquat.
Finish
The finish is long and lingering, with notes of dried fruit, chili peppers, sudachi and Cointreau.
