Description

It used to be a rather rare sight to see an official bottling of Craigellachie single malt. Well after years of waiting, in 2014, four turned up all at once! The annually released 17-year-old expression really shows off the meatiness of this Speysider's spirit. Individually numbered bottles. It is known for its robust, muscular profile with tropical hints of pineapple and meaty malt, and an old-school character and signature meaty richness. All Craigellachie expressions are non-chill filtered, contain no caramel colouring and are bottled at 46% ABV.

Fruity with notes of pineapple, lime zest, vanilla, malt, dried barley, biscuits, toffee, pears, oranges, strawberries, raisins, dates, coffee, chocolate latte, and earthy cocoa nibs.
Palate
Rich and oily with pineapple, pastry, dried barley, porridge, biscuits, spice, white pepper, ginger, caramel, vanilla, oak, a faint whiff of smoke, strawberries, pears, oranges, raisins (jam-like), grape candies, light cinnamon, clove, and a toasted flavor.
Finish
Medium long, spicy, with an almondy aftertaste, lemon, rich and jammy, cake with strawberry jam and cream, fruit tea, tart cranberry, warm spice, roasted tomato sauce, vanilla, light sweetness, coffee, and cocoa nibs.
