Description

Cutty Sark Centenary Edition is a blended Scotch whisky released in 2023 to commemorate the brand's 100th anniversary. This 23-year-old expression is crafted from hand-selected malt and grain whiskies, with the malt component initially matured in oloroso sherry casks and then finished in Port casks. The entire blend was married for 100 days in Port casks before being bottled at 52.2% ABV. It is a limited release of 1,435 numbered bottles, presented in a distinctive gift box designed to resemble a mainsail.

Chocolate off the bat – grated dark chocolate, baking spice-laden cabinets, forest gateau, opening up with freeze-dried strawberries and strawberry laces, hints of ginger, digestive biscuits heading into cheesecake territory, with a herbal sage-y edge.
Palate
Fruit salad, some tropical notes, kiwi/starfruit, a touch of grapefruit balanced by a Mars bar caramel and nougat spine. Silky and soft with raisin, sultana, crumbly brown sugar, hints of ripe peach and apricot, milk chocolate, candied orange peel, and a hint of toffee apple.
Finish
Cocoa, caramel, a touch of coffee? Satisfying tiramisu. Drying oak and warm baking spices, especially cinnamon and clove, give a mouth-watering feel.
