Description

Daftmill Farmhouse was granted a license in 2003 allowing its first distillation to take place in December 2005. As an independent distiller, owner Francis Cuthbert's main aim was to produce a light Lowland whisky. The distillery has a silent season in spring and autumn whilst work happens in the fields. This release is a vatting of two first-fill ex-bourbon barrels (#53 and #55), distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2025 exclusively for Aqvavitae.

Nose
Nose – A bright, zesty fruit bowl spritz of sweet citrus and yellow stone fruits; nectarine, apricot and tinned peach is followed by sweet iced vanilla and apple pastries. Palate – An effervescent and creamy arrival delivers kiwi and lime marmalade with sweet and syrupy stone fruits. The fizz develops into rhubarb and custard, with a sweet apple and madeira cake finish. Finish – Elegant and ethereal.
