Description
A malt distillery in Speyside that predominantly provides fillings for the blended Scotch brands in the Diageo portfolio. As such, the only permanent official bottling is the 16-year-old from the Flora & Fauna collection and its single malt is more often found bottled independently. Dailuaine was at a time in the 19th century, Speyside's largest distillery, and it was home to Scotland's first pagoda roofed kiln. That distillery perished in a fire however, in 1917. The newly rebuilt distillery was acquired by DCL (now Diageo) who used its 'meaty' spirit as a filler for their many blends. This Fable release, Chapter Three - Moon, is a 12 Year Old single cask Dailuaine, independently bottled by Fable Whisky as part of their 'The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay' series. It was distilled in 2009 and bottled in 2021 from a refill hogshead, non-chill filtered and at cask strength.
