Murray McDavid was formed in 1996 by Mark Reynier, Simon Coughlin and Gordon Wright and was named after Reynier's grandparents Harriet Murray and Jock McDavid. It quickly became known for its irreverent tasting notes, edgy Gaelic slogan - 'Clachan a Choin' - and later for its ACEing process of finishing whisky in wine casks. They are based at Speyside's Coleburn distillery. This Dailuaine 7 Year Old single malt was distilled in 2018 and matured in a single Oloroso Sherry Hogshead before being bottled by Murray McDavid for the Spirit Of Speyside Festival 2025.
