Description

This is a 34-year-old single malt whisky from the closed Dallas Dhu distillery, independently bottled by Wm Cadenhead's as part of their 'Cask Ends' series. Cadenhead's, established in 1842, is Scotland's oldest independent bottler. The 'Cask Ends' series features leftover bottlings, often from single casks, finished in 70cl bottles. Dallas Dhu, a Speyside distillery, ceased production in 1983, making its bottlings increasingly rare.

Nose
very fruity and aromatic. Lots of fruity notes like yellow plums, apricots, pineapples and papaya. Hints of meadow flowers (buttercups). Frosted cereals and vanilla ice cream. Behind this warm fruitiness there's also a great waxy layer and soft grassy notes (hay, green tea). Walnut oil.
Palate
a bit drier, with more green tea, hints of grapefruit and hints of eucalyptus or chlorophyll. Tangerines. Becomes rather herbal and slightly bitter. Some sappy pine wood as well.
Finish
very long, showing mint, nutmeg, plain oak and green tea.
