Description

A former malt distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland. Primarily tasked with providing fillings for blends, its single malt is something of a rarity and it was closed in the 1980s. It was run as a museum until 2024 until acquired by Aceo in 2024.

Nose
Lots of sherry, creating an highly enjoyable combination of crystallized oranges and sultanas with those waxy, oily and mineral notes and with the strong minerality. Lots of Grand-Marnier, tar, rubber (new Pirellis), then mega-huge notes of absinth and yellow Chartreuse.
Palate
Starts principally on grapefruit and lemon marmalade, a little pepper and that huge 'jamminess', quince, apricot, figs. Also an incredible amount of various spices.
Finish
Lingering, orangey, rich.
