Description

Created by Master Blender Stephanie Macleod, Dewar's 15 Year Old (known as 'The Monarch') is a blended Scotch whisky matured in a combination of sherry and bourbon casks. Following the initial maturation, the whiskies are blended and returned to specially selected oak casks to marry for several months—a process Dewar's calls 'Double Aging'—to enhance smoothness. The expression was inspired by Sir Edwin Landseer's iconic 1851 painting 'The Monarch of the Glen', which was purchased by John Dewar & Sons in 1919.
