Description

Full of originality, this chestnut barrel-aged version crafted in the 10th arrondissement of Paris is a succession of particularly intense olfactory and gustatory sequences in which peat plays a predominant role. Additionally, delicately fruity, floral, herbaceous, and spicy, it exhibits a liveliness and a freshness of spirit that further highlight the unique character of its strong personality.

Nose
Lively, powerful. A mixture of damp black peat, bacon, varnish, candied orange, and dried apricot. Hints of salt and pepper emerge, with peat becoming more prominent. Herbaceous (freshly cut hay, alfalfa), fruity (mirabelle plum, walnut), honeyed (heather), and floral (tuberose, daisy) notes.
Palate
Lively and unctuous. A peated and malty attack with malty and gentian notes. Spice and chocolate aromas join the party.
Finish
Long and balanced. Empyreumatic (fir, thuya), autumnal (undergrowth, moss), and herbaceous (savory, sage, osier). A light and drier peat covers the taste buds, with retro-olfaction offering coffee éclairs. The empty glass is peated, smoky, medicinal, camphorated, and varnished.
