Dufftown 11 Year Old (2008), Milano Whisky Festival 2019 Dufftown was built in 1896, becoming part of the Arthur Bell & Sons portfolio in 1933. As with Blair Athol, Dufftown was regularly bottled as a single malt, despite its importance to the Bell's blends. Nose
macaroons on the nose, with raw cane sugar, crème brulée, ripe peach, accompanied by a very fresh herbaceous and floral profile.
Palate
remains fresh and harmonious, with almonds and hazelnuts, caramelised cane sugar, candied orange, lemon peel, all on a carpet of grass and wild flowers.
Finish
Medium finish of dried fruit, lemon and caramel. Sweet but not cloying, with the fresher notes keeping the balance while supporting the influence of the rum without overpowering it. A dessert to eat your fill!
