Description
A former grain distillery that was built by Hiram Walker & Sons in 1938 in order to provide fillings for the Ballantine's brand. It was notable for its use of stainless steel rather than copper column stills, and also briefly housed the Inverleven malt distillery within its complex. Dumbarton closed in 2002, with most of its structures demolished by 2008, sealing its fate as a significant yet lost chapter in Scotland's Lowland whisky heritage. This particular bottling is from Buds & Barrels, a Belgian retailer founded in 2020 by Tom Haseldonckx, and is part of 'The Sticky Label' series.
