- Nose
- Soft sherry with honey, cereals, malt, toffee, caramelized sugar, butter, and cream. Orange and light vanilla aromas, with roasted almonds and chocolate. Balsamic cream with subtle rubbery notes. Rich nut combinations with fine-structured wood. Spicy, smoky, and slightly sweet with plum and orange marmalade on lightly burnt toast. Dense dark chocolate with red fruits like cherries and blackberries, ripe banana, figs, and dates. Evident sherry influence with honey, balsamic vinegar, vanilla, and caramel. Light toasted dried fruit, mainly almonds, and candied orange peel. A hint of raisins. Delicate and well-integrated woody notes.
- Palate
- Direct onset of salty orange flavors, wrapped in heavy, honey-sweet sherry. Smooth despite 55% ABV. Creamy cocoa with cream, soft leather, and herbs. Orange peel/orange-apricot liqueur with almond aromas, nuts, and fine oak wood, smokily wrapped. Great nut-honey-wood combination transitioning to the finish. Full-bodied.
- Finish
- Long and warming. Smoky-sweet with nuts, balsamic, and well-integrated wood. Increasingly dry. Traces of rubber and orange linger on the palate after some time.
