Description

Rooted in tradition, St. George's Distillery are proud to make whisky the old-fashioned way, using slow processes, traditional equipment and honest, local ingredients. James Nelstrop's original goal for the distillery was to create England's finest single-malt whisky. This small batch release, distilled in June 2007 and bottled in August 2018, is an 11-year-old single malt matured in Portuguese Cabernet Sauvignon casks. It was one of the oldest bottlings from the distillery at the time of its release, with 885 bottles produced. [cite: Scotch Whisky Auctions, 1, 2, 3, 9]

Rich red fruits like strawberries, cherries, and plums, with a malty coating. Intense oak flavour and a little cardamom spice emerge at the end.
Finish
A slightly bitter aftertaste with lingering red fruits, spice, and acidity, leading to a delicious Christmassy and slightly drying taste.
