Description
Created in 1896 by Mathew Gloag, it was initially called the Grouse Blend but the 'Famous' prefix was added in 1905 after the success of the brand. Owned by the Edrington Group, it is stablemates with Highland Park and Macallan and was awarded the Royal Warrant in 1984. This is a special edition ceramic decanter, made by Wade, often referred to as the 'Highland Decanter', released in 1996 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of The Famous Grouse brand. It is gilded with 24 Carat Gold and depicts the Red Grouse in its natural habitat. The blenders still work by the same four fundamentals as they always have: foundation (sticking to the Gloag family traditions); finest (keeping up the high quality); flavour (creating aroma through maturation); and fusion (perfecting the ideal blend).
