Description

One of Scotland's oldest licensed distilleries, Fettercairn was opened in 1825. This Old Fettercairn 10 Year Old was part of the core range, bottled in the 1990s, and discontinued around 2002 when the 'Old' prefix was dropped from the brand. The malt produced is predominantly used in Whyte & Mackay blends, but Fettercairn also produces its own range of aged single malts.

Nose
Some smoke on the nose, quite heathery actually. There's a lot of malty grain notes too. Porridge and caramel sweetness.
Palate
A creamy, milky body with more porridge and treacle. The peat is there in the background too.
Finish
A good long finish with the peat slowly taking precedence over the malt and toffee.
