This blended malt is a marriage of two mizunara oak casks, including whisky from the legendary Hanyu distillery, from its final vintage - the millennium year 2000. Grapefruit/lemon freshness, butter slathered onto white bread, mashed banana, pineapple, light smoke. Initially soft with nuances of acetone, then sweet and floral tones with vanilla essence, spices, and tangerines. [2, 3]
Palate
Balanced, elegant, medium density, sweet and fruity, with spicy, smoky, and lemon notes. Lively with good biscuity structure, light banoffie pie, strawberry, floral, and a smoky edge. Rich, toasty, malty sweetness, with some fruitiness like apples. [2, 3, 4]
Finish
Long and smoky, with a hint of barley sugar. Lightly smoky, with smoke coming forward late in the development. [2, 3, 4]
