From the Girvan Patent Still range, this 28 Year Old Single Grain Scotch Whisky was originally launched for the Travel Retail market. Nose
Initial notes of caramel, honeycomb, and acetone, followed by vanilla, brandy butter, oak, popcorn, fudge, and lime. Also, honey, lemon drizzle cake, quince, and hints of tobacco.
Palate
A brief flash of caramel, then oak, wheat, ginger, vanilla, and acetone. Vanilla-rich oak, candied peels, roasted almonds, white pepper, popcorn, pencil shavings, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sweet honey water, toffee, and a bitter caramel rum ball. Warm honey, banana, citrus, creamy vanilla, and spices.
Finish
Medium to long, with cinnamon, white pepper, caramel, oak, ginger, acetone, and nutmeg. Pear drops, flaky pastry, and a touch of caraway heat. Initially spicy, then sweet, with walnut bitter and chocolate nougat. Long and sweet.
