Description

Named after the company that operated out of Dundashill distillery in the early 1800s, the Glasgow Distillery Company was set up by Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward and Ian McDougall in 2013 and began producing Makar Gin in the early stages. Having laid down the first casks in March 2015, the Glasgow Distillery Co., hoping to welcome the new era of distilling in Glasgow, were able to proudly release their flagship expression. This single malt has been double distilled with unpeated malted barley before maturing in first fill ex-bourbon casks and finishing in heavily charred virgin American white oak from Kelvin Cooperage. Three exemplary casks were handpicked and married together for this Batch 01 release, which was bottled at 61.3% ABV and limited to 750 bottles. [cite: Scotch Whisky Auctions description, 2, 3, 8]
