This is the first release of Triple Distilled whisky from Glasgow Distillery, matured in Virgin Oak casks. The Glasgow Distillery re-opened in 2014, becoming the first Single Malt Whisky Distillery in Glasgow for over 100 years. In 2020, the distillery was named distillery of the year at the Scottish Whisky Awards.

Dried fruit and spicy oak give this whisky a warm, inviting character. I like that the fruit carries through to the lingering finish, balanced by dark chocolate and honey.

The strongest appeal here is the meeting of dark chocolate and toffee with dried fruit and spicy oak. That gives this Lowland single malt a clearly sweet, rounded direction, while the oak brings a useful edge rather than letting the richer notes feel one-dimensional. It sounds warmly composed and approachable, though the character described is more fruit, chocolate and spice than coastal. A pleasing fit for someone drawn to layered, sweet malt.
