- Nose
- Sweet vanilla and subtle spice combine with fruitier green apple and grapefruits. Lively, oily, slightly peppery malt. Some creamy Danish Blue balanced by hints of citrus including lime and grapefruit squash. Sweet white chocolate, vanilla, dried fruits, subtle spice, nutmeg, hints of green apple and grapefruits. Chocolate - both white and milk, vanilla oak, crème brulée, brandy butter/buttered toast and egg custard tart with nutmeg, spearmint and faint cardamom.
- Palate
- Butter cream and vanilla pave the way to fruity green apple skin and citrus cleanliness. Chocolate lime sweets and brandy butter. With water there's more allspice, dessert wine, barley malt and cured ham. Sweet butterscotch, vanilla, grape skin, raisins and candied peel. Presence of heather, lemon grass, notes of cereal and dry woody flavors. Initially creamy vanilla custard before charcoal, tar, toffee and spicy dry oak emerge and dominate.
- Finish
- Elegant and subtle. Oak, some subtle smoke, green apple skin and more chocolate limes. Decently long and quite strong finish, with peppery spiciness and a tart, sharp bitter nature to it. Smoke wafts across the slightly sweet fruit wood finish.
