Nose
Sweet and zesty lemon drizzle cake, continental pastries with fresh, sugared fruit, plus a touch of ginger. Fat, weighty lemon drizzle cake covered in peppery olive oil. Big hit of malty cereal, spicy and quite grassy. Cold mineral water mixed with icing sugar, lots of buttercream too. Perfumed, floral but by no means delicate. Strawberry ice cream but with real tangy, pungent strawberry veins. Hints of menthol and perhaps eucalyptus by association. WAX. FOR. DAYS. All sorts of waxiness too, candle wax, sex wax (it's not a rude thing), grease-proof paper lined with butter.
Palate
The pastry notes continue with almond croissants, and cinnamon swirls. Roasted nuts, oaken vanilla, and oily malt build, while bold warming spices tangle in the background. Lovely sweet arrival with more lemon drizzle and strawberry ice cream, cut across with a fat, oily and slightly grainy spice. Plenty of malt in there too. More wax of the aforementioned varieties, soaking up that sweetness even more and drying into the spicy, grassy freshness and more menthol.
Finish
A touch of tangy marmalade arrives to see things off, with soft apricot notes mellowing herbaceous malt beneath. Quite long, lingering oily spice with the sweetness gently fading.
