Description

Glen Grant distillery was founded in 1840 by brothers James and John Grant. It is located in Rothes, in the heart of Scotland's Speyside region, and is known for its bright, easy style. This particular bottling was distilled in 1987 and aged for 5 years, making it a rare chance to taste a release from that era. Glen Grant is one of the biggest names in Scotland's Speyside region and has one of Scotch whisky's longest-running single malt brands.

Nose
Pear and green apple lead right away, fresh and clear. Vanilla and light honey follow with a soft malty note. In the background there's a subtle spicy edge with a hint of oak.
Palate
Smooth and light, with orchard fruit and gentle sweetness. Vanilla and a hint of caramel add roundness without turning heavy. Toward the end, a little pepper shows up with a gentle drying oak note.
Finish
Short to medium and nicely pure. Fruit and vanilla linger briefly. It then fades with mild spice and light oak.
